The Protector of Citizens, on his own initiative and after learning from the media that one pregnant woman and one woman that just gave birth died in hospitals in Užice and Aranđelovac within 15 days, launched a control investigation into the work of the Ministry of Health, the General Hospital in Užice and the General Hospital in Aranđelovac.
The Protector of Citizens requested the Ministry of Health to carry out an extraordinary external inspection of the quality of professional work in both hospitals and to deliver the results to him within 15 days.
The Protector of Citizens requested the General Hospital in Užice to inform him, within 15 days at the latest, of all the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of the pregnant woman, and in particular to provide data on the internal quality control of professional work that was announced to be carried out.
At the same time, the Protector of Citizens asked the General Hospital in Aranđelovac to inform him within 15 days at the latest about the death of the woman that just gave birth, and in particular to provide information on the measures that may have been implemented in the meantime.
