Today, the Protector of Citizens Zoran Pašalić has asked the rectors of the universities in the Republic of Serbia to inform him whether those universities have adopted regulations or other acts regulating the procedure for the prevention and protection against sexual harassment at higher education institutions in Serbia. Pašalić sent the inquires as part of the activities undertaken by the institution to assess the legality and regularity of the work of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, over suspicion of students being sexually harassed by employees at that faculty.

On this occasion, the Protector of Citizens points out that it is especially disturbing for society when there are allegations about the existence of potential sexual harassment in educational institutions, therefore, we must remove any suspicion that there is any form of harassment or abuse.

The Protector of Citizens emphasizes once again that the goal is to empower victims of all types of harassment to report it without fear of suffering the consequences.
